2017 was a transformative year for Citrix ShareFile. ShareFile helps companies define the future of work by enabling simple and efficient content collaboration in the digital workspace.
ShareFile continued to build value for customers with robust file sync-and-share features while delivering capabilities that allow customers and clients to work efficiently from anywhere. ShareFile also helps customers securely move to the cloud when they are ready, based on their needs and schedule.
ShareFile introduced several features in 2017 to meet customers where they are in their cloud journey and help their end users and clients work efficiently. And we are pleased to announce several more, including:
Data Migration Service
ShareFile Connectors have long allowed customers to mobilize existing data without requiring migration, but for many, the time is right to move data to the cloud and de-commission legacy file servers. Citrix is excited to introduce ShareFile Data Migration Service, which is a service offering to help customers migrate their data from legacy file servers and other data sources into ShareFile. ShareFile Data Migration Service provides a frictionless experience for customers to get setup with ShareFile and get all their data in one environment simply.
IRM for Cloud StorageZones
Information Rights Management (IRM) enables file level security that helps protect files wherever the file goes. This feature was previously available only to files stored in a customer-managed StorageZone. ShareFile now supports IRM in Citrix-Managed cloud StorageZones. Available in Beta in North America only.
Custom Workflows
ShareFile Custom Workflows streamline and automate the repeated, time-consuming, manual document-centric processes that customers face each day. This solution enables customers to combine mobile forms, triggers, and actions into a tailored, automated workflow that benefits both IT administrators and everyday users, including the mobile workforce. The latest updates bring this functionality to mobile devices and Custom Workflows now supports on-premises zones.
Microsoft Integrations
ShareFile is the perfect complement to Microsoft Office. Our popular Outlook plugin now allows in-line responses and the ability to start workflows directly from Outlook. ShareFile for Outlook — a new Microsoft Outlook add-on — brings ShareFile functionality to Outlook for Mac and Outlook Online (Office 365, Outlook Web Access, and Outlook.com) users. Customers using on-premises StorageZones can now take advantage of native Office mobile app integrations and offer collaborative web editing, thanks to our integration with Microsoft Office Online Server (OOS).
ShareFile also enhances Office365 investments by providing electronic signatures, co-editing, supporting hosted desktop solutions, supporting external collaboration, direct integration with OneDrive for Business and other data sources, so users can access all their data from one environment. Collaboration can happen in one environment and data is available anywhere ,on any device, at any time with direct integration with Microsoft Teams.

ShareFile Drive Mapper
Drive Mapper provides on-demand access to remote files and folders, including Connectors, allowing users to access all their files from their device, regardless of how much storage is on the device. Drive Mapper is the tool of choice for accessing data in hosted desktop & app environments like XenApp and XenDesktop. Drive Mapper also provides connectors right to Office 365 (OneDrive).
Policy-Based Administration
This flexible administrative framework makes it easy to manage ShareFile policies and permissions at scale. Data retention rules, storage location preferences and more can be based on Active Directory groups and easily scale to tens of thousands of users.
ShareFile for Gmail
This Chrome browser extension brings ShareFile functionality to Gmail for quick and easy file sharing directly in your email. This new feature complements the additional G Suite capabilities.
And while all these enhancements continue to add value for ShareFile customers, ShareFile remains a critical piece of the Citrix secure digital workspace. Just as XenApp, XenDesktop, and XenMobile make it easy to deliver any app or desktop to any device, ShareFile provides an efficient and secure way to deliver files from any data source to any device.
