Cloud Desktop Infrastructure is a virtualization solution in which a desktop instance is hosted on a centralized server in a data center and accessed over a network with a terminal computer (laptop, mobile, and so on).
Desktop computing takes place on the host server, rather than on the endpoint unit, because the hardware specifications for the endpoint are lower. This theoretically decreases the investment in the endpoint system and can make it easier to support a wide variety of remote and mobile devices. As the hardware needs to modify the desktop program, it might also be easier to redirect the CPU and memory from the server side than from the endpoint machines.
Protection and configuration management are additional advantages of the XcellHost Cloud Desktop Infrastructure. Since all data resides in the data center, any failure of the endpoint computer limits the visibility of data that is not contained in the computer.
