The NIST Cyber Security Framework offers guidance to private sector entities that own, operate or supply critical infrastructure. It offers a fair baseline standard of cyber protection. It sets out basic processes and critical controls for cyber security.
This system includes key controls and processes in a variety of areas that are important to cyber security. Defines the five concurrent functions Recognize, Defend, Detect, React, Recover. Several of these functions are linked to procedures and policies. The security feature relates, in particular, to basic safeguards that need to be enforced for systems and data.
