    SAAS allows you to back up data from supported cloud applications automatically on a schedule or anytime manually. Backed up data can be viewed, exported, or restored directly to a data source via a web browser, from the Skyvia interface.

    With Skyvia, you can set up automatic backup that runs up to once per day. Whenever necessary, you can also back up data manually. Every time Skyvia performs a full backup, so each snapshot contains all the data, selected in the backup.

    When you set up a backup, you can select what data to back up. You can select cloud objects to back up data from, exclude some of their fields from backup, if necessary, and even configure filters to back up only data, matching certain conditions.

    Backed up data are stored in a secure Microsoft Azure cloud. They are stored securely, in an encrypted form.

    Backed up data can be easily viewed and exported from web browser. After opening your backup, you can navigate its snapshots, open an object in any of the snapshots and view its data in the browser.

    Whenever necessary, you can also export backed up data to a CSV file to store it locally.

    You can restore data simply by opening a snapshot, selecting records or whole objects, and then clicking the Restore button. Skyvia then provides you a choice of operations you can do with the selected data — insert to data source, update the corresponding records in the data source to the values from the snapshots, or delete them from the data source (NOT from the snapshot). You can restore separate records, whole cloud objects, or all the data.

    Skyvia Backup is able to restore records with their relations. You just need to select all the necessary related records and restore them together in one restore operation. For more details, please read Restoring Data.

    Alternatively, you can switch to the Changed view and compare the current snapshot with the previous ones. The displayed changes can be simply selected and undone with the same Restore button.

    Skyvia Backup also allows using backed up data in other Skyvia products — Data Integration and Query. You can create connections to your backed up data and use them in Data Integration and Query. For example, you may use query to analyze your backed up data or export only some specific backed up records. Data integration can be used to integrate data with other data sources without adding additional load to the backed up source itself or to perform more custom restore operations.

    Backup connections are read-only. You cannot modify data in your snapshots. They can be configured to point to a specific snapshot or always to the latest one.

    Skyvia stores backed up data in secure Azure GRS storage. All your data is stored in an encrypted form, using AES 256-bit encryption, which is one of the strongest ciphers available. Skyvia uses unique encryption keys for each user, and our engineers don’t have access to them. They only have access to your packages metadata.

    All the interactions of our UI with API are encrypted with SSL, so you don’t need to worry about security of your data. Since Skyvia is hosted in the Windows Azure cloud, so all the latest security updates are always applied. Microsoft works hard to provide customers the best security and protection for their data, and security is built right into their Azure platform.
